What I Wore (Will Wear): Business Trip

Here's something I never thought I'd say: I'm on a business trip.

And here's something exciting I accomplished: I packed everything for a two-night Atlanta adventure in my purse and a tote bag.  BOO YA.

See?

shirt: Target
scarf: ??
jeans: F21
shoes: Banana
purse: Dooney
tote: Gift from the Hubs.

My co-worker traveling buddy couldn't BELIEVE I got everything in 1.5 bags.  (And I even brought my computer, as evidenced by this post.) So what did I do?!  I'm wearing the same jeans and shoes for the entire trip.  The bottom half of my attire will stay exactly as you see it above and I only packed shirts:

tank and cardigan: Old Navy

tank: Loft
cardigan: Old Navy

These, plus a backup tank--because I can't trust myself to not spill food. I also "cheated" by putting my laptop in there naked.  I figured if I'm using a tote bag anyway, do I really need a computer bag inside of it?  No.

Do you have any light packing secrets? Maybe you thwarted the laws of physics by getting your stuff into an even smaller bag?  Also, anybody else ever been to Atlanta?

  1. Great packing job, I love traveling light too. Your outfit looks comfortable as well as appropriate for the trip.

Hope you stayed warm with the crazy storm that came through the Southeast yesterday!

  4. I used to travel for a living. When flying became too difficult for a 6 week or more trip, I started to drive. I put two large plastic totes in my trunk to serve as my "holding" tank for clothes and when I stopped I would "shop" my trunk and put what I needed in my overnight bag. Good for you traveling so light.

  5. Wow! That's awesome, and I love your tank/cardi combos... was just shopping yesterday for a trip to the beach next week. I found the cutest chic tote that will work as a plane carry-on (with smaller purse tucked inside) AND my beach bag. Otherwise, I'm not really known for packing light. ha!

  6. One pair of pants is really the key.
    Have a great trip!

  7. You look great!
And isn't it relieving to pack lightly!!

Last summer, my husband and I traveled to the Mediterranean for 2 weeks with only 1 carry on bag each! We made it a contest to see who could back the lightest bag between us! I won, since my bag was only 10.5 pounds! (I did have a badly sprained ankle at the time which was a great motivator to pack lightly, too!)

I love Rick Steves' website for packing suggestions!

    Best,
    Mary

  8. You look cute and business casual! Fabulous Dooney bag, very retro. I have a brown one like that from about 1993 so I'm glad to see they're back in style....

  9. I try and try, but I am the worst packer. Even after dragging a giant suitcase around Spain, I still can't pare down. You never know if you are going to stumble upon a masked ball after lunch with the pope and swimming. :)

    Your choices are great though!

  12. Non-wrinkle clothing is the best when packing. Have fun in Atlanta!

  14. Lulu, that cracks me up. It's true that you never know when you'll stumble upon a fabulous party, but that's why I pack jewelry to dress up my basics.

Creme, you would travel for 6 weeks at a time? Ugh. I was ready to go home after 60 hours.
