I will be honest: I didn't know what to wear at first. I actually looked up the venue to make sure it wasn't so fancypants that I'd have to go buy a "real" cocktail dress (which would have been a TRAGEDY, I know), but it was fine for what I already had. Hubsey is relieved.
Have you been to any awesomely-located weddings this summer? I went to one last fall that was at a former nursery (of the flower variety, not for babies). Do you have a go-to wedding outfit? Maybe you like to get something new for each one?
Love the outfit, especially the shoes! I am such a sucker for a good pair of shoes. We had one very lovely wedding this spring in which I wore my go-to wedding outfit: Banana Republic black and teal print dress, black heels, black cardi. Always looks good.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! I have not been to any weddings this spring or summer. I also love the brooch! I really do not dress up that much and so I tend to wear something cute in my closet for formal events.

Cas, I used to be the same way. Weddings were always an excuse for a new outfit, but that was because I worked at a radio station and just wore jeans everyday. Now that I have to look marginally presentable at The Day Job, I've found that dressing up is easier in general.

I have only been to one wedding this summer and it was my mother-in-law's wedding. She got married at her house in the backyard. It was small and intimate with only about 25 people, it actually turned out pretty nice.
And I love that dress.....I love Ann Taylor!
