Blogger Food Party - Who wants to make chili?

Last month during the Blogger Taco Party, I had a bit of an epiphany: knowing that I was going to blog about the food made me a little more excited to be cooking it. A little. (Let's not get carried away.)

But still, since being in the kitchen is pretty low on my list of awesome things, a little excitement is good. That got me thinking, and I've decided to make food parties a regular feature over here! I'm not sure about the frequency yet. Monthly? Bi-monthly? Any opinions about that would be super, if you have one. Things will work exactly like the taco party did: I'll choose a theme and/or dish and folks will let me know they're interested in the comments or via email: paige [dot] ronchetti [at] gmail.com. Everybody will make a different recipe, and we'll all blog about them on the same day--which is followed by a lot of drooling all over keyboards.

Crock Pot Chili

As you might have guessed by the title, I've picked the next theme! Football season is about to start (holler!) and for me, the meal associated with that is chili. My mom always cooked it the first week of the season when I was a kid, and when it's not eleventy billion degrees, Hubsey and I do the same thing.

You can make vegetarian chili, white chili, Texas-style chili--whatever you want! Just let me know if you're interested and I'll take it from there. Drop a note in the comments or send an email to: paige [dot] ronchetti [at] gmail.com.

Happy recipe hunting.

  2. I am the worst cook ever (and it's impossible to cook for one when husband is on the road), but I'll enjoy seeing/collecting all your tinny recipes so husband can make them for me when he gets home. :)

  3. TOTALLY IN! :) I have a beer chili recipe that my husband loves and I've been neglectful in making (I say it's too hot for chili, he says otherwise.) so he'll be happy. Just say when!

  4. I'll stew up a chili, bien sur! Wasn't it fun, that little taco party?? Sounds cheezie, I know, but it made the world feel like a smaller place, knowing other girls were making and serving the same (but different!) meal in their corners of the earth.
Shoot me an email with your publishing deets when you're ready ;)

  6. Great idea for a blog series! I most likely won't be making a chili recipe, but I would love to participate with future themes.

  7. Hmmmm. I do really like chili! When would this be potentially happening? I'm really busy, so I just need a good amount of lead time to get the post ready and what not, but this sounds like a totally awesome idea!

  10. I always make a bit pot of chilli at the beginning of football season too! That's so cool it's part of your family too, to think of chilli when football season comes and the weather changes...

I don't have a special recipe though, I just throw it together how it goes each time. :) It will be fun to see what secret ingredients everyone uses!
