So. I didn't have my act together enough to get these to you on Friday like usual. In my defense, painting one's kitchen cabinets is a rather time-consuming gig. It's going well, though, and the base cabinets only need minor touch-ups before I put the doors back on this afternoon. Then I'll start the uppers. And then I'll show you pictures! Spoiler: the countertop looks even weirder now.
Anyhoodle, let's jump right into the Picks while we're still on the topic of cabinets. I have to give MAJOR props to the people who decided to rock some forest green. I am not that brave, but a little part of me wishes I was because this looks amazing:
Flats. I need a new cold-weather pair. All of these are cute, but knowing my wardrobe habits I should go with black or leopard. (Anybody ever buy shoes from Victoria's Secret? You like?)
These vintage-inspired stacking rings are so pretty, and I like the mixed metals. The site they're from also has an impressive collection of true vintage pieces, if that's more your thang.
Preach!
And because I want to start your week off on the right note, here's a piglet eating ice cream:
How was your weekend? Aside from all of the painting, I read an entire book: Divergent by Veronica Roth. It was kind of like The Hunger Games--think future dystopian setting and teenagers--but without as much inherent misery. I've started the second book now, but then found out number three isn't published yet. SIGH. Anybody else read it? Are you reading something else that's good?
Cute pig. That is exactly how my son looks after eating ice cream.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I am reading right now are things in preparation for the new school year.
The piglet eating ice cream made my day!! Thanks Paige :)
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck with the painting drying...
I love those stacking rings, and that quote is awesome! The piglet eating ice cream made me smile, thank you.

Everyday Inspired
Nice finds! Divergent is on my kindle reading list for the library. There s a long wait so I'm not sure when I'll get around to it. I actually just finished reading The Night Circus and I'm currently reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
ReplyDeleteI love how that kitchen looks, I wish my kitchen was that big and gorgeous. Maybe I would do some more cooking then.
ReplyDeleteWicked forest kitchen...tres modern country. Oooh and I love the pointy mauve flats! I got a silver pair from Joe Fresh for the fall.
ReplyDeleteNot into the hunger games genre, i'm afraid (not yet...my tastes change all the time...). I'm reading 'Suite Francais' by Irène Némirovsky. WWII, France, female perspective. Very romantic in part deux of the tome...
I wish I could be brave with green cabinets like that! And I love the sentiment of that quote. Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteMixed metals, YES. The forest green is awesome. And the pig is priceless. Great way to start the week! I'm so glad that your cabinets project is going well.
ReplyDeleteThose forest green cabinets ARE amazing. I'm smitten. Also, hey cute piglet!
ReplyDeleteThat pig is so darn cute! And I love those stacking rings!
ReplyDeleteLove the lavender flats and the Calamity Jane quote!! I had an unexpected 19-hour layover at O'Hare and thought of you!
