A lot of stores have started putting out their fall lines, which is great because fall clothing is the best ever, but also totally bonkers because how is it already time for that? I've been wandering around New York for the last couple of days and have noticed some trends popping up. Of course I saw other, less attractive stuff, too (like crop tops an clear purses like we're all supposed to be Cher Horowitz again--ugh), but these are the ones I'm digging:
>> Bows - Obviously you can rock them in your hair, but I think they work all over the place. I saw a lot of tie-the-collar action, as well as cute details on shoes. Wool hats, too, but I think it's still a smidge warm to go down that road.
>>Emerald Green - The Pantone color of the year is still going strong (yay!). I saw mainly clothes this color, especially dresses and sweaters, but some purses were getting in on the action, too. I've worn my green shorts a lot this summer, so maybe I can justify a green dress...
>>Neon - Here's the thing with neon: it grew on me. Like a fungus. But really, It turned out to be a pretty fun trend and I'm glad I gave it a go. I saw a lot of neon pops on accessories that would transition well into colder weather.
>>Animal Print - When I was in 8th grade I had a pair of leopard print cargo pants. Not that they were a good idea, but they happened. Now that I'm older and wiser, I like my animal print in small doses. I can't tell you how many pairs of leopard flats I've seen in the last two days, and I mean that in a good way.
Have you taken a peek at fall clothes yet? What trends are you into? Who else is horrified by the crop top phenomenon? How would you ever wear those in cold weather? I must be getting old.
