Paris-Inspired Art

Man. This cold has been AGGRESSIVE. Yesterday was my first almost-normal day since last Wednesday. Before that, every time I thought I was finally out of the woods I'd end up ready for bed at 5 o'clock because I was just too tired to keep functioning. My body was like, "Nope, I'm done!" and then what I can only describe as germ-induced narcolepsy took over.

But I think I'm finally on the upswing. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be my "work days" so hopefully today can be epic. I have some holiday necklaces I'd like to bust out before I send my new line sheets, but it's rare that I get a new item made and pictures taken in the same 24 hour period. We'll see.

Anyhoodle, let me show you what I found recently! Hubsey and I are going to Paris for Thanksgiving (aaaaaaaah!) so in my downtime I've had France on the brain. It's been manifesting itself in art searches on Etsy:

>> Mr. Squirrel - What a smart looking chap! He's making me smile. ($18)

>> Paris Map - The Hubster and I collect maps of cities we've visited together. We usually try to buy them while we're traveling, but in case we get distracted by cheese and croissants, this one would be nice. ($16)

>> No Regrets - First of all, that gold foil is beautiful. I also like the quote: "No, I regret nothing." (I've also heard it translated as, "I have no regrets." Anybody know for sure?) ($40)

>> C'est Magnifique - The bundle of balloons reminds me of Up. I think that says it all. ($12)

Do you have any French-themed artwork? Or any other country? What about a delightful squirrel? Do you have any big trips coming up? This will be our first time in Europe, so we're giddy. GIDDY.

So pretty! When it comes to Paris an Etsy, I totally have a favorite: tubidu (http://www.etsy.com/shop/tubidu). I have been drolling over this illustration (http://www.etsy.com/listing/92305594/paris-illustration-you-are-not-alone?ref=shop_home_active) for days now!

  13. Any big trips planned?? I think after my trip in August I'm good for another 1yr or so. Although after a few weeks of being home I was like..hmm lets do Ireland. That will be fun. Anyway, I'm very excited about your trip to Paris. I think you'll love it there and the food is AMAZING.. Also, I wouldn't believe the hype of people saying that French people don't like Americans.

  14. Ahahahahaha. I love the squirrel! I hope y'all have an absolutely amazing time next month. My biggest upcoming trip is moving to Hawaii in early December!!! He wants to visit Australia in the next few months, but I'm totally sick of flying and want to stay home.

  15. I'd literally translate the print "as non, I regret nothing" but "no, I have no regrets" is probably the better translation to American English (thanks French minor from college that I never use!). You're going to LOVE Paris. It's pretty amazing. And I bet it will be gorgeous at thanksgiving.

I just got back from the Canadian Rockies and it was magnifique!
(an aside: In Canadian national parks, all signs are in English and French. fun! a chance to remember my French. Est-ce que vous etes Americaine?)
