Whew! Then I hit a roadblock and couldn't get the desk apart, so I had to wait for Hubsey to get home from work and use his IKEA magic. Now that half of the room is empty and waiting for its new friend. I'm 90% sure we're getting the sawhorse desk, but I want to see it in person first because sometimes furniture looks more awesome online.
Have you moved any giant furniture lately? Did you feel all buff afterwards? Because I sure do.
The Cleaned workspace looks great. When we moved recently I put the chest freezer in the entry way myself... I broke the entry door, ripped some carpet, dented a wall, and cut myself, but the freezer still works great.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks! The new one will be a lot easier to keep clean because I'll have space for all of my storage.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm cracking up about your freezer. I've never caused quite that much damage, but I did take out a little bit of the door frame when I dragged the hutch down the hall...
It feels so good to get rid of the stuff that you just don't want anymore!
ReplyDeleteLife's too short to put up with the clutter of unwanted items.
I hope you're happy with your new desk!
Ha! I actually had to move a couple dressers out of the studio several weeks ago. I used them to store supplies, but it just made the studio look so junky, I finally broke down and bought some real storage bins with drawers. Now my studio looks like a big girl studio! But dang, I am so buff for moving those dressers all by myself, so yea, you are right!
ReplyDeleteI threw away my desk and hutch a few weeks ago, when they had the clean-out-your-garage thing. I figured if I did that, then I would be able to paint my office and then buy a new desk. Ha! I've bought paint and that's as far as it's gotten. Probably by the time I'm ready to paint I'll have to take the paint back to the store and have it reshaken. So here I sit with my computer all deconstructed in my living room and now I have to work on the couch all the time. I also discovered that just because you get rid of the desk, that doesn't magically eliminate all the other stuff that's lurking around the office, like the bookshelves, the baskets of stuff, all the random CDs, etc. They're all still in there, just waiting and mocking me. I hear them every time I walk by.
ReplyDeleteGo Paige Go! I love that you tackled it before the new one arrives! I once removed the top bunk of a bunkbed = bruises. Never move furniture alone! Giggles! xox!
