Our second wedding anniversary is Monday, and I still don't have a gift for the Hubs. But it's not for lack of trying! After buying a watch didn't work out (again), I asked Hubsey what I should get him instead. At first he said I didn't have to buy him anything, but then he spouted this gem:
"Well, I don't really want anything right now. You could just give me money."
Give you MONEY? Like a grandmother on your birthday?
No.
So now I have to start from scratch. Perhaps one of these will work:
Orange is his favorite color, and he really could use some bookends. Maybe I could get them with our wedding date instead of those numbers? $18.
A bit of a splurge at $130, but a magnetic knife block is one of his criteria for a dream kitchen. I bet we'd have room above the stove...
And it wouldn't be a post from me without any wall art. "You Are The Rock To My Roll" print, $10.99.
I have the hardest time with our anniversary because I feel like the gift should be a little more meaningful. What did you get your significant other for your most recent anniversary? Is he/she hard to shop for? Did you get something totally sweet in return?
I love those bookends...a great DIY project!
ReplyDeletei love the art!
ReplyDeleteMy two year wedding anniversary is coming up soon too. Last year I got the beer of the month club. Instead of renewing it last year my hubby mentioned wanting to see a cirque de soliel show each year for our anniversary. I got forth row tickets to one that I'm going to give him!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the magnetic knife thing. It's something both of you can use and it be a great step for his dream kitchen!

We don't do too much anymore in the way of anniversary gifts... but we recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of our first meeting and I booked us a room at an awesome little boutique hotel and we had a terrific night out and little mini-vatation! http://orangiesattic.blogspot.com/2011/07/silver-saturday.html
ReplyDeleteMeg, that's so fun! I've never seen a Cirque show.
ReplyDeleteOrangies, congratulations on 25 years!
thanks for the ideas! our one-year anniversary is coming up next month and i'm trying to come up with an amazing present.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Mine is hard to buy for, too, and never wants anything! I like all your ideas, though. They all look like they would be good.
