Miscellaneous: My Sister the Bargain Huntress

My sister is too cute, you guys. We live in different cities, which means, sadly, we don't get to shop together very often, so instead she emails me pictures of her latest finds. This one is so good I had to share it with you, too:



A vintage "secretary dress" from the 70s. It's a great color scheme for fall, and even looks kind of Christmas-y with the leaves and berries. But its versatility isn't why I'm impressed. I about fell out of my chair because she said it needs NO alterations. What?! A vintage dress that you can just wear without starting a feud with your sewing machine? Or even using Liquid Stitch?

Well done.

It was $28, which is a very fair price for a vintage dress in excellent condition. In fact, I expected it to be more. Maybe Indianapolis is where I need to get all of my vintage from now on...

Have you scored any sweet deals lately? Or found any cool new stores? My sister stumbled upon this place during her lunch break, and maybe she needs to sprinkle some of that lucky dust over this way.

    Sooo cute! What a fabulous find your sister found! Oh yeah...I got an amazing thrifted skirt over the weekend...Ann Taylor LOFT for 3 bucks and it wasn't just cheap but it is so darn cute! I've actually purchased a few vintage dresses online, none of which were over 15 bucks, so yay! :)

    Loving your sister's dress!! So nice for winter.... and yes it does have a Christmas feel but isn't tacky or too much at all.

    This dress is fabulous! I love it, and the price is right! I don't think it's too christmasy at all, I think you can totally make it work all year!
