Pinterest Picks

I've been sitting here trying to think of something fun to say, but I'm just not feelin' it. I have that slightly panicky sensation you get when you're really far behind on everything. A couple of supply deliveries are late, which is adding more stress, and I would be lying if I said I was still cool as a cucumber about my slow sales this month. My work-life balance is getting wonky again, but I feel like I can't NOT do anything.

So it's one of those mornings. Pardon me while I distract myself for a minute. Look at these vintage educational charts! I want all of them.

I'm not the kind of decorator who puts little Santas and reindeer all over the place, which means this minimal tree skirt is totally my jam. I didn't notice them right away, but the little snowflakes are so cute:

Quilting is too advanced for me, but finding this stargazer pattern kit almost makes me want to try:

Wrapping paper takes up an amazing amount of space, so maybe I'll switch us over to doing the same thing for every celebration. Bing, bang, boom. (Also, I misread "Polly" as "Pony" and I was like, "What kind of magical horse buys people things?!" Good job with those words.)

And finally, I'm always looking for healthy burger replacements. Say hello to the quinoa and kale patty:

Is anybody else having A Day? It would just be great if I could clone myself. And if I could teleport. So basically I want super powers, which is unlikely given my age, human status, and proximity to radioactive spiders... Anyway, hopefully your Friday will be less jam-packed than mine!

  1. Yes me too! There's a whole lot going on all at once. The world will keep turning as they say; we just have to hang on. ;)
I love all your picks, as always. I've never tried quilting but always wanted to. I'll add this pattern to my crafty "to do" wish list. Hope you get caught up this weekend. xo

  2. Ohh, I love the quilt. Love, love, love. That would be a super tricky pattern to do, given all the curves, but that's what makes it so lovely!

I am not currently having A DAY but I have had many, many in the past and foresee more in the future. It will all work out, just keep plugging along and try and clear off your to-do list whatever you can do while you wait on the things you can't control. :)

  6. I pinned that quinoa and kale patty too and SO want to make it. And I looooove that wrapping paper!

My sales for my clothing label have been slow every October for a good ten years. Not that that makes you feel better, but this is a notoriously slow month because it's right before the holidays. I hope things even out for you soon! xo

  7. I totally know how it is to feel in a panic about the slow sales and all the million things that need to be done! I get to a point where I have to step back and go for a run, walk the dogs, do something totally different so I can come back to the issue with a fresh and blank slate. It helps a lot. I really love those charts. I'm thinking of ways to decorate my new office and I want a ton of bright & colorful art on the walls. I wonder if I could put all the prints I buy on dowels like that to make them all look good together... hmmmm

  12. I hear ya! Things have been crazy around here too. It seems anything that can go wrong with my laser or it's components has. Last week it was my software, today it was my exhaust system! And of course I have a couple big orders...and a show this weekend! But it will all work itself out in the end :)

I love the wrapping paper! Great for kids and adults!
And that "burger" looks so good!

  13. Yes! Streamline the wrapping, it's such a time/space saver. And it's fun to have signature wrapping, everyone knows the dark brown wrap with the bronze ribbon is from me!

I think the wrapping paper is cool and love the quilt pattern, maybe you could find it premade?

  15. I think I've been having a decade. Things might get better when I turn 30 in 3 yrs. I totally understand about the superpowers. I always think that if I was to have superpowers I would have gotten them by now. Maybe when I turn 30 I'll get some.

  19. Look, I need you to teach me how to peruse Pinterest. So far, I have wasted too much time on illustrations. Well, wasting it was not because I got so much inspiration! But recipes, decoration, quilts... come on, make a series on how to get the best of PInterest! (Maybe even on my blog? hint, hint)
