What I Wore: eShakti

Have you heard of eShakti? I hadn't until recently, but lemme tell ya, because of them it's all cupcakes and sprinkles over here right now.

If you read this blog with any regularity, you know that I'm tall. Not WNBA tall, but I'm 5'9 1/2", which is mighty big when a lot of stores don't carry long lengths. Things are too short, they don't fit my shoulders (which are impressively linebacker-esque), the waist sits up near my boobs... It can get ugly. But what I liked right away about eShakti is that each item is made to order in your exact size and measurements.

Let that sink in for a second. You not only choose your size, but you also put in your height (finally!). And if you want more customization you can change the sleeve style, the length of the skirt, and add more in-depth measurements.

The dress I ordered is right here, and if you click through you'll see that it's normally sleeveless. But since it's a knit and I plan to wear it this winter, I wanted my arms covered, so boom! I added that. And then I was afraid the regular length would be weird on my tall self, so I changed that up too. I ordered an XS/2, and I think it fits true to size. It's comfortable, it's a pretty purple-gray color, and it's warm. They hit it out of the park.

You may have noticed that I haven't mentioned the price yet. Don't worry, I'm not leading you astray. This dress is $69. For reals.

So basically I have a new favorite store. And I'm going to give you all of their links so you can look around and fall in love with them, too. Here's the website, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Has anybody shopped with eShakti before? What'd you buy? Is anybody else as stoked as I am that you can put in your height? I swear I hear music.

This was a sponsored post. I was gifted the dress in exchange for a product review, but all opinions expressed are my own. If you are interested in setting up your own product review, please email me.

  1. That is a great price for a tailor made dress. I found some websites that custom make jeans for you but they are super super expensive. Like 200 dollars jeans. I'll stick with my old navy pair. I'll definitely check out eShakti's website.

    1. Their prices are low because they don't have inventory to worry about. Aside from the samples in the pictures, everything is made to order. Smart!

  7. Ok, so firstly, I did not know you were of supermodel proportions.

    Good for you.

Am kidding! What a great find! It's the greatest dress...and the value! Oh my! I'm actually looking for shoes just like the ones you are modeling here.

Wanna see the dress I just bought to flatter my 5'2 self for the holiday season?

    1. Your dress is so cute! And these shoes are from Target a few years ago. They sell something similar now, but without the nailhead trim.

  8. Thanks for sharing this! How funny - I'm 5'9.5" too, for reals! So I know exactly what you mean with everything being too short/too awkward/too everything. Tall girl problems. I'm totally going to look that site up.

  9. Never heard of eShakti before but sounds like a fun place to shop. The dress looks amazing on you! You should come over here, they specialize in longer-length clothes, which means I always need to chop off at least 8" from store-bought pants. haha.

  10. Another tall girl here and this store seems too good to be true! Jeans are the absolute worst to shop for...off to see if they carry them!

  11. I didn't know some of you were in the Tall Club with me! Woop woop!

  12. Oh Paige! You are making all my dreams come true. A lot of people complain about finding pants to fit long legs, and I do too. But the dresses can be downright dangerous! Especially if you have to, you know, sit at some point. It makes me sad that most cute dresses nowadays seem to be cut to fit someone around 5'-2". Will have to check out this site. :)

  15. OMG! All that customization and still only $69??? I think you just passed me a cupcake with sprinkles...Both my daughter and I are on the short side. This past summer when she went to a leadership conference, we had to get her some business attire (and all the pants needed altering!). Very cute dress, and it's great with long sleeves. I'm gonna have to check out this eShakti!!!

  16. I have yet to order anything from them but they are awesome! I actually discovered them when I found one of their dresses at a thrift store. It was so unbelievably cute AND fit me pretty well. Ideally it would be a bit smaller on top but I love it. Once this baby comes out I might treat myself to a new custom dress :)
