>> The basement is just dreamy in the afternoon. It's still pretty cold down there most of the time, but it's worth turning into a blanket burrito to see the built-ins looking so angelic.
>> I bought a random canvas at GoodWill over a year ago and finally did something with it. Abstract art isn't normally my bag, but I'm really happy with how this turned out. It has a new home on the built-ins for now.
>> Speaking of random things, I made some pumpkin muffins and they were actually pretty good. Of course, all I had to do was add eggs and oil, but still. Considering I ruined a box of brownies a year ago, this is a big win.
>> I met a friend in the city for a girl date (we ate here, which needs to be on your list for Chicago if you ever visit) and it was freezing that day. Even the poor Bean looked cold.
And! I can't forget about one more fun thing...
BOOM! Time for you guys to be DIY show-offs. If you've made a recipe, painted something, whipped up new products for your shop, or flexed your sewing muscles, we want to see it. You guys really brought your A-game in last month's link-up, and as promised, Laura, Ayla, and I managed to narrow things down to three favorite projects. It was hard. Math hard, because I kind of wanted to show you everything all over again, but hopefully you hopped around in the links and saw some of these for yourself already.
In no particular order, these struck our fancy the most (but again, everything was cool).

So fun, right? I'm especially digging the planter because I have scrapbook paper up to my eyeballs and, quite frankly, need all the ideas I can get. We'll be sharing our three favorites next month, too, so be sure you link up! We can't share if it's not there. (Ha! Rhymes.)

Link up your projects below!
Those muffins look great! I love abstract art. I''ve been doing some of that myself lately :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to come back and link up as soon as I have my tutorial on the blog...
I really like how your painting came out! I also need to come back for your link up. I'm in the middle of making a necklace but I'm having a Project Runway moment and it's unfinished lol!
ReplyDeleteDown here in the deep south, we're already seeing Spring arrive slowly. It was 79 degrees last week, I almost had to put the A/C on. Thank you so much for choosing my dress as one of the three links!
ReplyDeleteYay for pumpkin muffins! I know what it's like to feel proud, even if it came from a box mix. I scorched my first attempt at toast...How do you DO that? LOL
ReplyDeleteFor not being into abstract art, your piece came out really well. I love the colors that you chose. I'd hang it in my house! =0)
From the linky, those heart funnel cakes look amazing!
Have a great Monday.
Fun to see my DIY over here! I am curious about your muffins, if you're ever in the mood of sharing the recipe, I'm all ears.
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing off my funnel cakes! I had been totally oblivious to the fact that it's the last Monday of the month. Woah!
ReplyDeleteI love abstract art, and I think your painting turned out great! I'm with you I really want it to be as warm as May all March long. I guess I can wish :)

Really digging the artwork! And I love pumpkin muffins. My favorite = one can of pumpkin + box of yellow cake mix + dark chocolate chips.
ReplyDeletethe way you feel about your basement is how I feel about our living room. So much sunlight comes in and it's just nice to lay on the sofa and read in the sun. Thankfully it's relatively warm.
ReplyDeleteYour basement looks so cool with the sun shining in!
ReplyDeleteThanks for another linky party :)
I love your abstract painting!
ReplyDeleteI've tried to make a box mix Angel Food cake about 5 times now, and it never, ever, comes out right. Ever. I guess some of us are just defunked. LOL
ReplyDeleteThose funnel cakes look pretty tasty too. ♥
Oh, and I love your painting!!
