Web Gem: Ann Taylor wants to make your wedding dress.

I got another email from Ann Taylor the other day, telling me they have new wedding and special occasion dresses. The promo pictures they sent were bright and fun, and I was all, "Hey! They upped their game!"


Sort of. I'll give them this: at least it's the right length (unlike this one). She looks very pretty, but does she look like she's getting married? And no, I'm not saying that every bride needs to follow the cookie cutter getup of a poofy dress and a tiara, but just because this dress is white doesn't mean it should be a wedding dress.

It looks like she's going to a ritzy cocktail party, not her own wedding. So while we wait for Ann T. to work this one out, let's look at the stuff she got right:


Charming! I'll take one in every color. $215.


Texture and rhinestones can be a lot of look, but this bangle makes it work. (Signs you've been watching too many Project Runway marathons? You start to talk like Tim Gunn.) $48.


Finally, a silver peep toe. Just because. $158.

So what do you think? Still kind of underwhelmed by Ann's idea of a wedding dress? I dig the rest of it, at least. Do you?

    That navy dress is fantastic! I'm trying to convice my bride to be sister to look at AT for bridesmaid dresses!

    Meg, YES. All of the BM dresses are amazing. Just don't let her get the bridal gown from there. :-)

    Yeah..... I'm not feeling that first dress. At all really.... But the navy dress is AMAZING! And those shoes?!! Ahh.... want! Sea Marie

    I agree the dress doesn't really say wedding to me either. But the rest is great! Silver peeps would go with so much!

    I think that the dresses are beautiful and would make beautiful bridesmaid dresses. I think the first dress would also make a beautiful mother of the bride or groom dress. I love the silver shoes!

    I think maybe for an older bride, a second wedding or something, that might be nice... but that black dress? LOVE.
