DIY: Good Day, Sunshine

I bought my next sewing project about three weeks ago when I went to visit my sister in Indy. The plan was to fix it up immediately, but you know, Netflix started streaming Mad Men and life just got away from me.

So now it's August and I need to hurry up and make this presentable, otherwise I won't be wearing it until next year:


She doesn't look like much on the hanger. I blame the sleeves. Terrible, elastic-banded sleeves that are getting chopped off first thing.

I'm planning a tutorial for this one, just to show my fellow not-so-great sewers that a lot of magic can happen without that EVIL uncooperative sewing machine cramping your style. For real, if I can do it, anybody can.

What are you working on lately? Anybody else been a clothes-fixin' fool this summer? Are you also stoked that Mad Men is on Netflix? (And am I the only one who doesn't think Don Draper is that hot? Surely I'm not alone.)

    I have also found Mad Men... and have been having trouble pulling myself away from the TV! It's a little addicting.. and you're right. He's not THAT hot... not really my type I guess. Can't wait to see what you do with the top! Sea Marie

    I have been fixing up some clothing too. Just purchased a J Crew cardigan from a thrift store. Found a hole around the collar...added some lace and viola something cute and new to me! Perhaps I should do a post about that (: Looking forward to your tutorial!
