I've been seeing a lot of mercury glass in stores lately, but here's a tutorial for making your own with clear glass, spray paint, and white vinegar. Genius! As soon as I have a second, I'm trying it:

I do still need to get those aforementioned plates on the wall, and maybe I should go work on some jewelry orders before I get up to my eyeballs in that. I have a feeling it will take me a while...

ReplyDeleteReally great finds, as always. I just opened a letter from my dad yesterday, and he said, "Don't feel like you have to do everything on the house all at once. Make a list and plan it out over the next 3 months or so." My boyfriend and I looked at each other and just laughed, like "how does he know?"
ReplyDeleteI think everything you want to do on a house takes twice as long as you think, and probably costs more too. I'm torn between wanting everything to be fixed, arranged, and pretty right now, and also wanting to take my time and do it right/save money.
Hope the party is fun! And you're right, no one else will notice those things you want to change, unless you're like me and feel a compulsion to point them all out. Haha. xoxo

DeleteMary, I totally DO have a compulsion to point out things that aren't done. I don't know what's wrong with me! Part of me wants to hurry up and get the house ready, too, but that's not how I decorate. The condo took me years to do and I never technically finished by the time we moved because I never did our bedroom. I decorate like a snail.

I really like the plate hanging idea. I think I saw that on your pinterest. I'm looking for more wall art ideas so I fill up my white walls. My plan this weekend was to do homework, sew, and work. I think I succeeded in all 3.
