Randolph Street Market

I just realized I'm doing two shopping posts in a row, but I discovered a new flea market and have cool things to share! Over the weekend I joined Dana and Chris at the Randolph Street Market and it was delightful. The show is a combination of vintage, antique, and handmade items--the trifecta--and I'll definitely be heading back in the future. I might even look into having a booth there, I liked it so much.

Let's look at what I found, shall we?

Those three botanical prints were the deal o' the day. They were $1 each (woo!), and they're getting framed with some oversize mats and going above our bed.

As for the smaller stuff, I found some brass letter charms that will be turned into jewelry:

And then I picked up some vintage pieces (because like a magpie, I can't resist a good sparkle). I found a fun, pink-y orange brooch from the '70s...

...and an Art Deco style ring. I'm not sure how old this one actually is, but I liked the design too much to just leave it there.

For my local Chicago folks, the next market is March 23/24. I'll be the person hoarding rhinestones.

So what were you up to this weekend? Anybody else hit up a show? We also had a Super Bowl party and cleaned the house really well (mainly because a bunch of people were going to be in it). Did you watch the game, too?

  1. What a fun day! I love the brooch and ring! Can't wait to see what you create with the brass letters too!

Was there a big game this weekend? LOL, can you tell we didn't watch :)

  2. I really like that brooch, and I would love to go to a good market. The ones I get to go to usually don't sell the good stuff.

  4. ooo the charms are pretty! I plan on being in Chicago in July so I definitely have to add some flea markets to my visit. Perhaps I'll drag my family with me so they 'think' I'm spending time with them but I'm really shopping. This weekend occurred so quicky I can't quite remember what I did. I worked and I made some jewelry! (it was a big creative struggle because it's been a while since I've put my supplies to work)

I didn't watch the game but I did have an interesting conversation with a customer about football and chicago Sunday night. He surprisngly thought I came from good Irish stock.. quite hilarious actually.

  7. Grrrr... everyone else is thrifting, and I'm just sitting here. :|

I'll be in Boston next weekend! So excited, first time ever.
Maybe I'll find a flea market or 2nd hand store there? I need to take care of this thrifting urge, asap.

I think the botanical prints are winners, as well as the rings. Love the tiny one! :)

  12. Those botanical prints are awesome! When I lived in Williamsburg, one could usually find these Colonial botanical month prints in thrift stores. The trick was trying to find ones that had similar frames to the ones you found last time!

  13. You made out like a bandit, girlfriend. I can't wait to check out more markets with you and Chris soon. And I will totally come out to the burbs to check out whatever gems of markets, antique stores or estate sales you're willing to show me!

I'm jealous I didn't see that brooch first. But I'm pretty happy with mine too!
