What I Wore: Get Your Green On

To quote my dearest Sybil Branson, "Is there anything more exciting than a new frock?!"

dress: c/o eShakti // purse: vintage // earrings: Oh Nostalgia //  brooch: vintage // bangle: Macy's

Nope! Especially not one from eShakti, whom I've partnered with before. They did the smartest thing ever and started offering customized garments at reasonable prices. You can choose the length, the neckline, the sleeves, for some of them you can add embellishments... It's unlike anything I've ever done before.

And I really do mean reasonably priced: My new friend is only $59.95. I customized the length because I'm a giant, but otherwise left it alone. I like that I can finally add length to things, because so many stores assume that tall people don't need clothes.

It's a jersey knit, which makes it uber-comfortable, and also has a lot of ruching and draping, which will hide any potential food babies. I like a dress I can eat in.

The other thing I really like about it is that I can wear it year-round. This is obviously more of a fall/winter styling, but it would also look cute with a metallic wedge and some brighter jewelry in the summer. Emerald, or as they call it "bottle green," is a pretty versatile shade. It's a color without being all up in your face.

Now I just need a party to attend. Too bad Downton is over, I could've made everybody dress up to watch it. Maybe I can do a Mad Men viewing party instead...

Have you ever gotten any customized clothing? What's the hardest thing for you to find? (My constant foe is still pants that aren't jeans. And blazers.) Do you have a favorite cocktail dress?

P.S. eShakti is offering 20% your purchase through March 10th with the coupon code LTTLENSTLG.

  1. What a beautiful dress, You look stunning in it! It looks a lot more expensive than it is. I always love additions to my wardrobe that look costlier than they actually were.

  4. Yes.. I've been browsing their website over the past few days. I think I am going to buy a blouse from them. Their prices are pretty good for it to be measured for you.

  6. I'm short so I have trouble finding clothes at the right length as well. I think most women have trouble finding the right fit on the first try because our bodies are so different. That dress is gorgeous, and I think a Mad Men viewing party would be perfectly appropriate! Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog, xo! ♥

Beautiful Paige....find a place to go, soon. As long as the hubs doesn't get jealous because heads will be turning.

  9. How neat to have customized options like that! As a short person, I run into similar issues with length. This dress is stunning and so versatile. You definitely need to host a Mad Man dress up event when it comes back this spring.

  13. What a great dress...and you're so rockin' it! It's a great color and like you said, can be worn all year with different accessories!
I hate buying jeans or pants of any kind...I have that tall thing going on and it's just not much fun to go shopping sometimes...ugh.

  14. I have a hard time finding dresses that are long enough, so it's great to know that they customize length. I was just complaining on another blog that all the cute dresses are like 33" long, which is a mini on me. Not exactly appropriate for like 90% of places you would wear a dress. I also have problems with pants either being way short or way long. Men's clothing comes in so many different lengths and widths; it's endlessly frustrating that women's clothing isn't the same way...especially when you consider there's often more variances in our bodies (i.e. boobs, hips, etc) and therefore, more potential fit issues.
