Pinterest Picks

Happy first day of summer! We're gearing up for a scorcher of a weekend here in Chicago, so Mother Nature is at least in the right season now. It's hard to get excited about temps in the 90s, but that's what ice cream is for.

Also for keeping cool: these gorgeous shoes. They're $313, which is more than I can justify spending on kelly green peep toes, but if somebody wants to start a donation fund for them, I wouldn't say no.

Textile designer Caitlin Wilson has a new nautical fabric collection out, and it's like candy for my eyeballs. I'm especially digging the arrows on the duvet cover. (And also that night stand.)

This is so true, and a good reminder for those days when you have 9,864 things to get done in 24 little hours, and some of that time has to be for sleep.

We have an awkwardly long wall in our kitchen that we haven't really figured out how to handle. We tossed some artwork up there right before our housewarming party... in September... and haven't thought about it since. Something gallery-ish like this would be cool, and would draw your eye across the room.

Here's another idea I wish I had first: using chalkboard vinyl to make bunting. Now you have one for every occasion. Duh.

So what are you up to this first official weekend of summer? I'm hitting the outlet mall with a friend tomorrow, but that's the only real plan. Hubsey and I will probably start planning our next house project, but I'm not sure what we'll tackle next. ALSO, Mad Men season finale on Sunday night! Anybody else going to watch?

  2. Wow, really love all of these picks. Green peep toes, nautical bedding, a gallery photo wall, and chalkboard bunting...what's not to love?! Also, doesn't everyone need one of those worrying prints? We are going to watch the Mad Men finale!

  3. The husbandfish and I are looking at apartments this weekend, and celebrating our 4th anniversary!
We made sure to marry around the solstice, so this time of the year is always our time of cosmic and personal celebration. :)

    Awesome picks, Paige —as always!

  6. I have to work this weekend *sadtrumpet* but I hope I can still go out and enjoy some of the weather. Love the idea of a gallery wall in the dining room (if you have the space for it).

  7. Maybe we could split the cost and share the shoes?

I love that gallery wall, too. We have a long wall in our living room and we did the gallery wall thing to fill it in and we love it. Wall art was so neglected around here for so long.

Hubby gets home from his trip tomorrow so we have to go pick him up, and then I'm hoping for a mommy's day off on Sunday. Seems only fair!

  13. Great pics. Love the bedding fabrics. Have fun at the outlet mall. My son will be glued to the Mad Men finale, I'm sure! I had tentatively planned to go to a quilt show in Omaha on Saturday -- we'll see. Should I go or should I sew? That is the Q.

  16. Great collection of finds! I love the gallery wall, I always wanted to do that in my house I just don't know where to start. Man Men is always a little crazy, but I'm addicted. I can't believe we are going to have to wait a whole year before it comes back again.
