It's done!
Wait, before I picture vomit all over you, here's what it looked like before:
Their house is less than 10 years old, which means lots of builder-grade everything. Plus a nice linoleum floor and cadaver-sized vanity when there was only plumbing for one sink. Weird, right? So now everything is pretty, scaled correctly, and goes much better with the rest of the house.
They haven't hung any art yet and I'm not sure if they're keeping the shower curtain (I forgot to ask! Bad blogger!), but even if they never do anything else in here, the room already feels twice as big.
Sorry about the weird wall color here. Camera fail. |
Here's a close up of the vanity/faucet combination, which is one of my favorite moments in the whole room. The vanity was part of a bargain set but you would never know it. It's gorgeous.
They love the space and I'm so thrilled that I could make it easier for them. In fact, my friend told me that by putting the design board together for her, I gave her the confidence to go ahead and start buying things. Aww. That's exactly what I want to hear.
Have you ever remodeled a bathroom? Thinkin' about it? (We are.) What room in your house do you most want to change?
OH WOW! What a great space. I love how it turned out. That's awesome that your inspiration got them moving, and I love the vanity combination.
ReplyDeleteYou know we've done the bathroom thing two times and built a third one new ourselves, so we are very versed in all of this. Bathrooms are so expensive!! But you can find some awesome cheap stuff if you really start looking.
We're pretty much good around here for now, though I would love to repaint my office, formerly Gus's bedroom, since the wall color is a deeper blue and a tan color would be more helpful for photos (bad, bad reasoning!).
What a fabulous reno! The new vanity makes a world of difference!
ReplyDeleteYou know what you're doing, lady!
ReplyDeleteWow, everything came together beautifully! I can't believe how open the space is now. Just having a smaller mirror makes such a difference. I also never would have paired light green with dark wood, especially in a bathroom, but it looks great. I can't wait to see your future projects!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so great and fresh!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! That smaller vanity definitely opens up the room! And it looks brighter in there too :)
ReplyDeleteLooks soooo much better! =D
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much better! We just remodeled our bathroom two months ago and it was a pain but oh so worth it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a big change! And it's looking so good! I love the new look and the new colour, it's looking so much lighter now.
ReplyDeleteNice makeover! It's amazing what a difference a few changes can make.
ReplyDeleteLove the change!!! I also love that the cabinet is much smaller. That makes such a difference in the bathroom. Good job!
ReplyDeleteFantastic redo!!! We definitely need to redo our cramped little bathroom! This gives me inspiration. We're stalled on a bedroom "touch-up". We can't agree on a paint color and hubby does not want to rearrange any furniture :-(. I have fabric for a duvet and new curtain rods. So for more than three years we have one minty green wall (hubby's choice--WAY to minty for me) and 3 ugly old beige walls. I'd be happy to go with a toned-down green.
ReplyDeletethe smaller vanity makes such a big difference. It makes the room look bigger. And I like the darker color. Updates the look, I guess. You did a great job! Congrats. {:-Deb
ReplyDeletePaige,
ReplyDeleteI am so clueless about design, that I wouldn't have noticed the stuff unless you pointed it out. . . like the huge vanity with only one sink. You did a beautiful job.
I would never think to put together a design board for a bathroom.
room to redo? bathroom!
kudos to you Paige!
gail
It does look lots bigger!
ReplyDeleteI have rehabbed a few house to sell so I have re-worked some bathrooms.
We're about to make a basically useless room into a library.
