You guys know I love a quick DIY project. I whipped these up yesterday on a whim after I spotted some glitter tape at Target for $1. It was one of those times when I was wandering around the store looking for something else (hairspray and hand soap) and I was lead astray by sparkles. They are my siren song.
Custom tags like these are an easy way to personalize your gift wrapping, especially if you're like me and want all of the presents under the tree to coordinate. (Hello, I'm an oldest child.) All you need are some plain gift tags and the glittery tape. I already had these tags on hand, but you can get a pack of them at a craft store for a couple of bucks.
All you have to do is choose a design, press the tape down, and trim off the excess with sharp scissors. I ended up making all of mine different, but you could totally do a matching set if that's more your jam.
I only saw the glitter tape in silver, which is okay with me because silver goes with everything. These are obviously great for Christmas presents, but you could make a similar batch to use for birthdays, graduations, etc.
Do you like to add a handmade touch to your gifts? Anybody else like all of the presents they wrap to coordinate? (Or am I just weird?) Do you use the same wrapping paper every year, or do you change it up?
hahah!! I do use the same wrapping every year if we still have some left over which we do! Although.. I kind wouldn't mind buying some more from the dollar store. Just make things pretty under the tree. Nice glitter-y tags. I love anything that shines..
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, simple idea! The last couple years I've strictly been reusing gift bags for Christmas presents so we have a huge assortment of colors under the tree. But I do make a new set of gift tags every year that coordinate.
ReplyDeleteCute idea, I have some glitter tape that would be perfect for this project!
ReplyDeleteSimple but great idea! I have so much tape that needs using, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI agree the glitter is very versatile! I've been making my own bows this year and plan to post a tutorial on it this Thursday. =)
ReplyDeleteI like sparkle! These tags are great for a little extra-added touch. =0)
ReplyDeleteCute. Cute. Cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love fun and easy projects like this, and they really could go on anything, anytime. Great idea!
