My favorite is probably the leather pouches. They're shown here with jewelry, but I think one of these would be a great pencil pouch for a desk. I also feel like you can never have too many coasters, especially with a house full of people. And for those among us who still haven't gotten DIY out of their system for 2013, the little cork trees are a fun project. All you need are a handful of wine corks, a hot glue gun, and some twine. Bing, bang, boom.
What do you like to give as a hostess gift? Do you have an old standby or do you switch it up depending on the person?
Those pouches are so pretty! I would certainly love one if I were hosting! This year I grabbed some "just in case there is a last minute party" hostess gifts at Target. One was festive glassware and I'll give that with wine, and the other are some small festive bowls that I'll give with some yummy mixed nuts.
ReplyDeleteWe typically do wine. I think of wine or perhaps a dessert as our entry fee to a party. Perhaps its because most of our parties are with other 20-somethings that are poor just like us. When we go to older people parties.. its still wine because we have found that they usually have so much stuff and don't really want more stuff. They want alcohol... and as much as they can get without buying it.
ReplyDeleteAll these are so pretty! I am in love with those baking supplies:)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I'll have to keep these in mind for future outings. Usually I'll find out what kind of drink the host likes and make sure I pick some up beforehand. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THE KITCHEN SET! I saw you pin that and I want it. I love the pattern of it. But really, all of those ideas are fun. I love the pouches (hmmmm.....) and the soap set especially. I wouldn't mind getting those as a gift!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great! I used to always bring food when I was younger, but now so many people have dietary restrictions, and you never know what they are, so I usually buy something now...drinks or whatever.
ReplyDeleteAll of these ideas are unique and festive!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! You might have given me an idea or two for upcoming dinners I'm invited in :)
ReplyDeleteThe coasters are a great idea! And I love those painted ornaments!
