Holiday Hostess Gifts

I think hostess gifts can be tricky. Traditionally they're one of two things: something folks can eat or drink at the party, or a special little item for the home. I usually fall into the first group (wine!) but for bigger parties it's nice to branch out. Where this situation gets tough for me is I don't want to bring the same thing as three other people. The goal is to find something unique but still appropriate--since hosting a bunch of holiday revelers is only for the bravest of warriors. Here are some fresh ideas to show your appreciation:

Ornaments // Leather Pouches // Hand Soaps // Christmas Poppers // Baking Supplies // Cork Trees // Coasters

My favorite is probably the leather pouches. They're shown here with jewelry, but I think one of these would be a great pencil pouch for a desk. I also feel like you can never have too many coasters, especially with a house full of people. And for those among us who still haven't gotten DIY out of their system for 2013, the little cork trees are a fun project. All you need are a handful of wine corks, a hot glue gun, and some twine. Bing, bang, boom.

    Those pouches are so pretty! I would certainly love one if I were hosting! This year I grabbed some "just in case there is a last minute party" hostess gifts at Target. One was festive glassware and I'll give that with wine, and the other are some small festive bowls that I'll give with some yummy mixed nuts.

    We typically do wine. I think of wine or perhaps a dessert as our entry fee to a party. Perhaps its because most of our parties are with other 20-somethings that are poor just like us. When we go to older people parties.. its still wine because we have found that they usually have so much stuff and don't really want more stuff. They want alcohol... and as much as they can get without buying it.

    Great ideas! I'll have to keep these in mind for future outings. Usually I'll find out what kind of drink the host likes and make sure I pick some up beforehand. :)

    I LOVE THE KITCHEN SET! I saw you pin that and I want it. I love the pattern of it. But really, all of those ideas are fun. I love the pouches (hmmmm.....) and the soap set especially. I wouldn't mind getting those as a gift!

    These are all great! I used to always bring food when I was younger, but now so many people have dietary restrictions, and you never know what they are, so I usually buy something now...drinks or whatever.
