Store-Bought Christmas Decor

I cover a lot of DIY projects and ideas around here, but let's be real: sometimes you just don't have an extra hour hangin' around to make something. It happens. So while I always like to DIY a couple of new holiday decorations every year, I also like going to the store. I did some poking around at my favorites places the other day, just to see, so I thought I'd show you my imaginary haul in case you want to pick up something new:

Wreath ($13) - This is so glam. I'm not sure that I'd actually put it outside because of the inevitable grime, but it would be gorgeous hanging on the wall.

Houses ($25) - Like a Christmas village, except better because you can stick little candles in there.

Trees ($16) - We didn't put up a big tree in the house this year, but I wouldn't mind a pair of these guys on top of the piano. The smaller one would also be nice as part of a centerpiece because it's only 12" tall.

Deer ($15) - Remember when I used to think Hubsey was weird for liking faux taxidermy? All of a sudden, I can't get enough animal figurines! What is the DEAL?! Not that I'm looking to mount any life-sized heads on the wall, but this is like, the fifth animal friend I've made lately.

Platter ($20) - Can we agree that this is the perfect shade of red?

Lights ($35) - Not only is this adorably retro, but practical in that you can just pop a new bulb in there if one burns out. Easy.

Let's play the which-is-your-favorite game! I really like the deer. And the trees. Oh my god, I could put them all together. And eat food off of the red platter while I ponder how cute everything looks. What decor did you pick up at the store this year?

  1. I love the trees! They would look cute by our fireplace. And I love the lights, too- it's too cold now but they would look great for an outdoor party in between trees!
