The Be Nice Box

Guest post in da house! You guys know I don't do a ton of these unless it's for Handmade Holidays, but my friend Diana just started a new business and I want all of you to know about it (because it's amazing and will make you feel warm and fuzzy). Here's a spoiler-free preview: it involves random acts of kindness, handmade goodies, and charity. Delightful combination, no? Let's sit back and let Diana tell us about the Be Nice Box.

hi everybody!

my name is diana and i am here to talk about kindness!

i live in minneapolis with my cute partner blake and our really naughty {seriously, she's always paws-deep in shenanigans...} rescue pup, daphne.

i really love riding my bike, making smoothies, reading harry potter & listening to the hanson christmas album!

also on my list of things i love?

being really nice.

i run a two-part business ; based around kindness.

part 1 : a blog ; called 'a year of minnesota nice.'

part 2 : a monthly-subscription box service called 'the be nice box.'

{what are they?!}

the blog : 

after the boston bombings last april, i wanted to do something to help ; something that really could make a difference. so, i challenged myself to complete 365 acts of kindness and then document them. you can check out the list, here. so far, i am about 160 days in & it has absolutely changed the way that i look at the universe. 

my absolute favorite good deed so far?

on day 100, nine of us went downtown minneapolis & handed out 60 bouquets of flowers to complete strangers! i still get goosebumps thinking about how stinkin' cool it was!

lets talk about the business!

the be nice box is a monthly subscription-box service, encouraging others to spread their own kindness! you can think of it as a 'random acts of kindness toolkit' that you receive in the mail each month.

every month, there is a new theme & we give $1 from each box to charity {in just 4 short months, we have given over $200 to organizations that are doing incredible things!}. each box contains a list of 12 good deeds you can complete throughout the month, 4 rad, handmade items to help you complete some of the tasks and a cool gift for YOU for helping to spread the good!

we also offer gift, 1, 3, 6 & 12-month subscriptions!

this project has been so much fun! every month, more folks are joining the movement and proving that small ripples of kindness make the world a better place!

{it is just so inspiring to watch people come together in the name of kindness!}
