Pinterest Picks

Happy Friday! I woke up in a great mood today and I think it was a carryover from last light. The Olympics were on (and Team Skating was less weird than I thought), I had Chipotle for dinner, and then I found my old Phantom Planet CD from high school. An all-around good time. Of course, I also woke up with a stuffy nose, so I need to go take some zinc and drink some tea before I do anything else. In the meantime, let me leave you with this week's Picks.

First, I don't know this blogger, but I need to brag on her DIY shelving for a second. What do you get when you mix galvanized pipe, spray paint, and lumber? Brilliance, that's what:

This outfit is pretty much what you'd see if you looked inside my head. She even rolled up her skinny jeans. #twinsies

On the other end of the fashion spectrum, I just came across this Naeem Khan gown from fall 2011 and absolutely adore it. The neckline is a wee bit daring, but that's the plus side of being a small-boobed person like myself; there's nothing to fall out of a dress.

Remember when we moved into this house and I was like, "Guys, I'm totally going to make my office functional for a home-based business?" Well, I haven't. I bought the Expedit and then stopped. But this workspace did just remind me to get rolling again. I might add some kind of paper-hanging system like this one:

This is an excellent reminder to us all, especially those of us who took a little while to figure out where we needed to be:

So what are you up to this weekend? We're going to an anniversary party for Hubsey's grandparents (65 years!) and, of course, watching the Olympics. Everybody stay warm!

  1. I always look forward to your picks on Friday! My favorite has to be the top one! Those shelves are pretty awesome. This weekend I'm hoping to get alot finished on my craft space on the second floor. We finally for a big flat file up there!

  2. Fab picks! If I lived in a loft I'd go for the industrial chic look! I'm thinking about getting one of those handy Ikea cabinets for my paper patterns :)
Happy anniversary to your hubby's grandparents - wow!

  3. Great picks as always! Loving that shelving =D I'm not as into these Olympics as I usually am for the Summer ones although I am enjoying reading about all the Sochi hotel disasters being shared on Twitter lol!

  5. You'd definitely need a lot of double-sided tape with that dress even if you are small-boobed lol. I love the shape of it though, particularly from the waist down. I've also been working on my office/studio lately. That room has had probably the least amount of attention since we moved in because I just wanted to start making stuff right away and not worry about the room looking pretty. But I'm slowly getting there. The only thing I've seen about the Olympics so far is all the somewhat disastrous photos people have been tweeting of Sochi. I mean, yikes. I'm starting to understand why all of the athletes asked their families not to come.

    1. My office fell by the wayside because I wanted to get the public spaces presentable first. Now that those are further along, I'm getting to the upstairs.

And yeah--I've seen some of the horrible hotel pictures from Sochi. Ugh. How could they not be ready?!

  6. I wish my workspace could look like that! I do have that card of Audrey Hepburn jumping (just above the printer), so that might be a start :-)

  7. Excellent picks Paige! I love the Julia's note ( or note about her)! I watched the movie about girl who make a challenge to cook a dish from Julia's book everyday and write a blog about her experience( sorry forgot the name of the movie). I recommend to see it for everyone...very romantic and very good encouragement!

    You found some great things!
My studio is all over the house! It would be wonderful to have a pretty and dedicated space. Part of my problem is that I work in a multitude of media.
