Maybe you're lucky and the men in your life are easy to shop for. But I think I'm hitting the nail on the head for most folks when I say dudes are REALLY difficult. Once they grow out of toys, it's like they magically stop wanting anything other than Super Bowl tickets or a new car. Helpful!
So I thought I'd kick of this year's gift guide series with some ideas for the men. Early brainstorming will probably do all of us some good.
For the gentleman who loves his precious iPhone or iPod (heck, I'm pretty attached to mine), an equally awesome charging station made out of an old encyclopedia ($48):
A versatile man-bag can come in handy for any guy with a commute. I don't want to point fingers, but somebody in this marriage who isn't me still carries around the same orange backpack he's had since high school. Even when he has to wear a suit to work. Stylish as that is, it's time for an upgrade ($49):
This one, on the other hand, already has the stamp of approval. Hubsey saw me poking around for gift ideas and said, "WAIT! Go back to that iPhone holder!" ($16.50)
Noted, babycakes.
A fun tie tack is always thoughtful, since one complaint I get from various men about dressing up is that they don't feel like themselves. Give that suit a little personality ($17):
Have you started your shopping yet? Any manly ideas to share? I'm always at a loss for what to get my dad and father-in-law...
Starting the thinking now is a great idea. Men are harder to shop for. I'm knitting some Fingerless Gloves and a Stocking Cap for two of the men in my life. Thanks for the push to get thinking about other gifts.
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty neat ideas! The main man in my life is pretty easy to shop for, but the other can be a bit more tough. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've been married for 42 years, and still have difficulty finding something I know will be appreciated - rather than "liked"! Why can't men be like us? Easy to please and no where near as choosy!
ReplyDeleteLiked the suggestions too, but alas, none would suit "he who must be obeyed"!! Thanks for sharing the ideas, though.
Found you via Blogging Buddies, and am following you: hope you'll return the favour and visit www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com. Think you might enjoy it, especially if you're creating lists for children's pressies! Although most of my recent customers seem to be adults with childish memories to resurrect!

Thanks for all the ideas! Right now the only men in my life are my dad and my dog (the dog is much less picky), so I don't have to worry about too many man-gifts. Great suggestions though, because I never know what to get my daddio!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm your newest follower!

Perhaps some of the trouble you are having with your shopping occurs in your first paragraph where you assume that we ever outgrow toys!!!
ReplyDeleteI dont often think of what I want, so when it comes time to be asked I never have anything ready to respond with.
perhaps a manly notebook in which your guy can keep all his wishlist items in would be helpful, heck, that can be gift #1.
good luck ladies!
Cute choices! Especially the iphone holder and the bags!
ReplyDeleteMitch, that's actually a great point. Now that I think about it, my husband hasn't outgrown toys at all. We always have to look at the Legos when we go to Target.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the iPhone charger. Robbie is pretty obsessed with his (and his iPad), so any sort of accessory sounds like the perfect idea to me. He's dig the encyclopedia too.
ReplyDeleteI definitely have not started my shopping (and/or making of gifts(. I'm always super last minute because I get so overwhelmed with how busy things get this time of year. Great gift guides like this help me stay focused and organized when it's finally time though! :)

Great finds!
ReplyDeleteGreat gift ideas, I love the man bag!

those man-bags are really nice. i think anything for the iphone is always a good thing these days. i used to always get them a nice, good quality wallet every year. boring, but practical...and men like practical.
