Illuminating!

So. Light fixtures. Generally not the most exciting things on earth, but last night the Hubster stumbled upon a website that was quite illuminating (ha!). It's a sister company of Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma called Rejuvenation, and they specialize in all sorts of cool hardware and finishes. But last night, my eyeballs were on the lighting.

Most of these very awesome fixtures are from the industrial collection, which seems to be a common theme as we look for new house ideas:

$370

$360

This long, skinny white one is part of the Deco collection. We admire these every time we see one in a restaurant, but this particular design won't work in the house. For one thing, the price (waah!), but it's also 4 feet long:

$400

$270

$440

The other so-called outlier is this chandelier from the Victorian collection. It looks pretty similar, though, especially with those wide shades:

$440

Sadly, I don't think we'll be purchasing any of these. They're super cool, but apparently that comes with a higher price tag. I might splurge on one as an investment piece, but I'm cheap, I'll own that, so paying for designer lighting is a hard pill for me to swallow.

On the bright side, all of our ceilings are only 8', so we have to stick with smaller (and therefore less expensive) fixtures. Silver lining, right?

Have you heard of this lighting company before? Maybe you have another one up your sleeve that you can tell us about? Are you a fan of industrial lighting, too?

  1. I've had my eye on some light fixtures too! Shades of Light is where I spotted them - some expensive items but we found many we liked for $100 or less. Like this one for our porch: http://www.shadesoflight.com/nantucket-ceiling-light-3-colors.html

I'll be saving this company you found though!

  2. Oh, man, I love that second one. We have a spot outside that would look great in. Price is totally out of the range, though. I have to say, we've gotten most of our lights from Home Depot or Lowe's. If you go online, they have a lot of choices in a lot of price ranges. I was just there last night getting one for the dining room! Those are fun finds, though. I will have to go check out that site!

  3. These are great! We've been looking at light fixtures recently too, but for outside by our front and back doors. The ones that are there now are ugly Home Depot lights that came with the house. We're stumbling across the same issue-- awesome light fixtures = lots of money. If I find any lighting companies in a good price range during my searches, I'll be sure to share with you!

  4. I just stumbled on the same site and fell in love with dang near everything! It's dangerous. I'm happy with 95% of our new fixtures as-is but seeing all of the lovely finds, I'm tempted to make some changes :).

  9. I have seen this site before but I've never ordered from them. Actually, Ikea has some great pendants and other light fixtures for cheap, but you have to actually go to the store I think, which may or may not be convenient for you. Also, sometimes you can find them for cheaper on ebay, especially if you know exactly what you're looking for.

  12. Some of those designs are really cool! The last one is also my favorite. We may upgrade a couple of the fixtures in our house at some point, but it isn't a high priority right now.

  13. I LOOOOVE industrial lighting! And West Elm has some seriously amazing fixtures for (relatively) cheap..some are under $100, so that's pretty decent!

This one I'm completely obsessed with: http://www.westelm.com/products/industrial-pendant-glass-w682/?pkey=call-lighting
