Notable Quotable

Here are two actual conversations I've had with Hubsey since we moved.

Hubsey: Do you have a sledgehammer?
Me: Have you ever seen me with one?
Hubsey: Well, no, but I don't know everything that's in the house.

-----

Hubsey: Is it okay if I put the leftover spaghetti in a ziploc bag?
Me: We have tupperware.
Hubsey: The small ones are dirty!

I've started keeping a record stuff he says, and it could be really hilarious to make them into some sort of quote book for Christmas. Or maybe a calendar. Or coasters! So many options. Anyway, since I started doing this I've been noticing a lot of quote-related products. My favorite is this Johnny Cash necklace, which I would like even without the tiny gun:

$42.00

This print is terribly accurate (and a pun!):

$12.00

I'm diggin' this leather cuff, too. The whole quote is, "May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars." I feel like I've heard it before with slightly different wording, but either way, lovely sentiment:

$22.00

These are just the tip of the iceberg. I found about 600 examples of Harry Potter quote-y goodness, but that's a whole other can of worms that we don't need to open today. What are some of your favorite quotes? Do you get them put onto jewelry/artwork/etc? Or do you just keep them in your head? What's the weirdest thing your partner has said to you lately? I'm still laughing about the sledgehammer.

  1. OMG that is so funny. We do now own a sledgehammer so we could actually be in need of finding it, but I love how he said he doesn't know what's in the house because that is my hubs. We have a lot of chats that involve him asking if we have something small/flat/plastic/etc. for him to use during one of his projects.

  2. Cute post! I've written down the texts my boyfriends sent me which are usually quite ridiculous! The most recent one being "I just ate 6 sausages"...

    1. Yes! Except I got, "I just ate a whole chicken!" He also likes to take before and after pictures of his steaks. He literally pulls out his phone to show people at parties, like a proud parent.

  5. Oh my gosh, that is awesome!! You should definitely collect what he says and make a coffee table book! I love that he asked if you had a sledgehammer. Hahaha!!
I need to collect all my husband's funnies and make a little book.

  6. My husband always asks me where stuff is, and it's the weirdest things. My response is almost always "Why would I know where that is?" Especially if it's something like his tools! Oh husbands - I'm sure they have their share of laughs from the things we say too!

  7. There's another shop that sells a tote with "I like big books and I cannot lie," which cracks me up even more because you'd be using it to tote around your big books. God, I could make a book out of the hilarious/ridiculous things that come out of my bf's mouth, but he'd probably kill me. ;)

  8. My husband is always asking where everything is. I just tell everyone he's a guest in his own home. In fact he's been a guest for 37 years, so I guess I'll keep showing him where everything is. Love him lots, he's worth it.

  10. Funny! Sledgehammer should be with the yard tools, right next to the rake. ;)

I do like funny or quirky quotes but I don't own anything with a quote on it.
