Shop Update: Love Fest

If you've traveled around the sun with me before, then you know Valentine's Day isn't really my jam. I've just never been into it and I'm still not, even as an old married lady. So it shouldn't surprise anybody that I wasn't planning on putting out a collection for the holiday.

The key word there is "planning." I was going to focus on my new classes and get some spring products underway instead, but then I was cleaning out my desk one afternoon and found some charms I had ordered and completely forgotten about:

Love Letter Necklace, $20

Well. It would be silly of me to leave "I love you" necklaces unlisted this time of year, wouldn't it? So up they went. I actually used to sell a silver version a couple of years ago, so it was a nice surprise to find these lurking.

Then I felt like I needed to do more than one piece, so I whipped up a teensy brass heart:

Heart Necklace, $15

And a little something I'm calling Cupid's Arrow:

Cupid's Arrow Necklace, $17

They're love-related but not sugary sweet, which I think is very fitting for a gal like me. All of them are available in Oh Nostalgia.

I also wanted to tell you guys that all of my latest product pictures have been taken with my new camera! I'll have a real post about it soon (maybe tomorrow?) with more details, but I can already tell you that I love it. It's made my life so much easier.

Yellow Rhinestone Earrings, $22

Opal Rhinestone Earrings, $18

Did you make a collection for Valentine's Day? Feel free to link to it in the comments so we can check it out. And how was your weekend? We had a very lazy couple of days, which is fine because Hubsey has started his many weeks of work travel and sometimes it's nice to just chill. Did you do anything fun?

  1. The lover necklace is really cute. Me thinks you are a closeted Valentine's Day lover. No big plans for us this past weekend. It was so drab that I just stayed inside doing crafting things and watching excessive amounts of Netflix. My days off at work are split so I don't actually have a "weekend". It's just a day off on saturday.

  4. I remember seeing the silver version of the Love Letter in your shop awhile ago! I'm glad you listed these, even if you weren't planning to. The cupid's arrow is really cool!

  6. We briefly had a break in the fog/rain on Saturday so we went out exploring around town and I took some photos (will blog probably later this week). Sunday, Peter had a work party. Ugh. Parties are the worst and work parties are the worstest. No offense to anyone who likes them, but it's just not how I want to spend my Sunday. Anyway, that sucks that your husband has to travel so much for work.

Your photos look great. What kind of camera did you end up buying?

I only have a few Valentine's Day things in my shop...2 banners and 1 little ornament/decoration. I was thinking of adding more, but it's hard for me to gauge how many people actually decorate for Valentine's. I added them initially thinking they might be good decor for handmade weddings/anniversary parties. But Valentine's Day? I'm not sure.

  8. I love the envelope and I can't wait to hear about the new camera! Mine has made quite a different too. I just finished updating all my photos - only took me a year!

I don't have a specific collection - but all my pink and valentines colored items are featured on the first page of my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MissMeghanElizabeth?ref=si_shop

  9. I did the hearts and arrows thing, too (also not much into V-Day). As it turns out, I don't hate wearing a black heart necklace, myself, so I assume other people will feel the same way. I like your love letter necklace, too!

  11. They are all simply adorable!
I'm not into the sugary sweet Valentine's Day overdose, but I always love hearts!

My hearts are not exactly new, but a personal favourite I don't seem to tire of:

  12. Belated welcome to BBA!! It's a great team.

I love the je taime love letter necklace. Glad you listed those items. Sometimes you just have to think like a buyer.

Congrats on the new camera! I am SO-o-o-o-o jealous! Anxious to read more. Your photos are amazing!

I changed tags on a few of my items for Valentine's Day, and I've sold out of heart bibs, so need to make more soon! No fun over the weekend. It's tax season so I work every weekend from now through April 15, but I'm very grateful for the few months of steady paychecks, especially during a relatively slow time on Etsy.
