Things have been busy over at Casa Ronchetti. I've gotten to the point where I have so much going on that I'm starting to forget things. So far it's only been to buy more food, but still. Food is a big one. Here's a little recap via Instagram of what's been going on over the last week and a half:
1. Sometimes my tea fortunes contain a lot of wisdom. I've officially tipped the scales toward tea instead of coffee now that we have a new kettle, and on the days that I do go with the stronger stuff, I'm jittery. Guess my caffeine addiction is going away?
2. I (finally) started designing more pieces for Oh Nostalgia aside from on-a-whim Valentine's items, which was one of my goals for the year.
3. This semester at school we're drawing with color. I wasn't so sure about it at first (pencil for the win!) but it's not too bad. It's actually kind of fun matching the colors to fabric samples.
4. I love getting a big load of supplies in the mail.
5. Hubsey's birthday weekend turned into a three-day extravaganza, as they usually do. We kicked things off with burgers and shakes on Friday night. (His birthday is actually today, by the way. Feel free to say hi in the comments because he reads them.)
6. And then we dressed up a little for dinner on Sunday. I got to bust out my polka dot bag, which only seemed appropriate for a birthday celebration.
What have you been up to? How was your weekend? I know a lot of people got some crazy snow--have you made it out of the house yet?
Happy birthday, Hubsey!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! I love the new jewelry supplies, and I would really kind of like that milkshake. We have physically made it out of the house, though I haven't left the driveway since Thursday night. It's raining now so it just makes it even more cold and damp. Hubs and Gus went to the Monster Jam yesterday, though, so we did have a few escapees.
Love your infinity necklace! Good luck with your drawing class -- I think your furniture designs look great! Especially the one with the chair (I want that for my sun room!)
ReplyDeleteAnd, hubby -- hope you enjoyed your three-day birthday party!!
Happy Birthday to your husband :) Sounds like you had loads of fun this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteI also prefer drawing in monochromatic rather than colour - but your designs look amazing! Nice shading work on the couch! I love getting supplies too :)
The drawings are way cool! I've always wanted to know how to draw, but I've never really taken any steps to learn. The new supplies look fun, too.
ReplyDeleteBirthday weekend sounded fun and good thing the straight shave was relaxing. I suggested the idea to Ryan and he was like..hhmmm maybe. This weekend was fairly relaxing we took a tiny walk around downtown Charlottesville while drinking hot chocolate and then I actually got some sewing done too. Now, it's back to the grind.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Hubsey!! Hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Hubsey!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for l-o-n-g celebrations! (Some claim a whole "Birthday Month!")
I love that polka dot clutch!
ReplyDeleteLove the infinity necklace, and the locket (saw it in your shop and here it is in your supplies photo). I like your drawings too (I can barely draw stick people, so...)
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Bday to Hubsey! A 3-day celebration is definitely the way to go! =0)

I love getting big batches of supplies in the mail, too. The shake looks delicious. Happy birthday to your husband!
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy! It looks like the good kind of busy though, just regular life stuff:) Happy Birthday Hubsey!
ReplyDeleteTell your hubby "Happy Birthday!"
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I got a fortune cookie that said I'd get something good in the mail. The mail is being delivered right now! Hope our fortunes are true. :)
Happy happy birthday to youuuuuu! (It's not quite the same without audio, I know, but you'll just have to imagine my awkward singing voice. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've been busy too. Rendering was definitely one of my favorite classes, no surprise that I loved using color, except for the aforementioned markers making me high/headache-y. Some of that might be due to the lack of proper ventilation in old classroom buildings, multiplied by 20 or so students all using markers at the same time. Plus, the ones we used were solvent-based. That means they have superior blending and color but you might die after you use them. At least you'll leave pretty pictures behind? :/
Happy birthday to your husband! Hope he has a good one :)
ReplyDeleteAnd love your sketches above for class, you should post more of them! Would be so fun to see what you're working on and how your work progresses over the semester.
Happy Birthday to the Hubsey :) Sounds like a great weekend of celebration!
ReplyDeleteLove your new infinity necklace! And the supplies look like fun!
Love your picture 'tutorial' of what you have been up to! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace and love, love, love the polka dot bag!! Hope Hubsey had a happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteI've been up to taxes all day every day. But the first "peak" is on the downhill slope. March will be relatively quiet.
Happy birthday to Hubsey!!!
ReplyDeletemm, shake and burger. please say there were fries too.
love the new necklace (and supplies!).
i am a tea girl myself. my gram was english and got me hooked on tea early (though what she gave me as a kid was extremely watered down). it's not morning until i've had my cuppa (or two) irish breakfast tea.
