Pinterest Picks

I'm glad it's Friday. It's been one of those weeks where I had a lot of school-related stuff going on, including that test I freaked out about for no reason because I did fine. I got a pile of bridesmaid orders assembled and sent out, too, which was good timing because I got new supplies in the mail for a mini spring collection and need to get that stuff together (and photographed--please be sunny) while I have a lull.

Anyway! It's the end of the week and we all know what that means.

I had to mark some tutorials about painting cabinets because... drumroll please... I've finally convinced Hubsey that we should try it ourselves! In the kitchen! And the basement! So that's a lot of cabinets, but you know what? I didn't want to pay for some other guy to do it without even trying. Even if we totally mess it up, we'd only be out the materials and a little time. Of course it's too cold for this now, but we're aiming for my spring break in March, if the weather cooperates.

Here's a cute springtime outfit. I still don't have any trendy colored jeans, but every time I see green ones in the store I think about it. This look might have tipped the scale in their favor:

This is a sweet little IKEA hack. I think the different colored drawer pulls are extra fun:

Sesame fried tofu, anyone? I know I give cooking a bad rap, but this one is easy even to me. Just throw stuff in a pan and fry it. Boom! Dinner:

And here's a gorgeous before-and-after renovation from Seattle. They not only transformed the exterior, but they added two bathrooms and 800 square feet of living space. I'm feeling very inspired:

So how was your week? I was kind of MIA so I feel like I don't know what everybody's been up to. Anything fun planned for the weekend? We're celebrating Hubsey's birthday with not one, but two nice meals out. And then we're going to IKEA. (Those things are not related.)

  1. I love the outfit with the green jeans. Those would be a huge HUGE stretch for me, but I love the way it looks. And you can totally do your own cabinets. If we can do it with two small children emptying them on us all day, it will be no problem for you! Do it!! :)

  2. I still don't have trendy different color pants either! I'm considering getting a pair. I really have to find some that don't make me look awful. Happy Birthday to your husband. What restaurants are you guys going to? Taco Bell? Hope your weekend is nice and relaxing.

  9. Painting cabinets is time-consuming, but I know you two can do it. We painted ours when we bought our house and I love the white cabinets (when they're clean...lol)!
The colored drawer pulls are so fun!
Have fun for Hubsey's birthday this weekend :)

  10. Ack, you're so lucky to live near an IKEA. I keep my catalog here dog-eared for whenever we visit my MIL in Texas-- then we go crazy and load up the car! :)

Love the drawer pull idea. And good luck with your cabinets-- you can do it! :)

  11. My hubby painted a couple of our cabinets, and I must say it is rather messy and time-consuming but worth it in the end! Good luck with your projects and congrats on the test :)
