Happy Friday! I actually kept thinking yesterday was Friday because I met Hubsey in the city for a Fall Out Boy show (wooooo!) and it totally threw us off. But good thing it wasn't yesterday, otherwise I would've missed this week's Pinterest Picks.
First, this is a gorgeous color. The description I saw said it was a grayed-down robin's egg blue, which is so accurate. We've been looking for the right shade of blue for the main bathroom, and I think this is our winner. Palladian by Benjamin Moore:
A show of hands, who likes to wear maxi skirts in the summer? I do! That is, when I can find them longer than my ankles. I've kind of given up looking in stores and might attempt to make a couple myself. Conveniently, I found a roundup of 16 tutorials yesterday:
I love any kind of spicy Asian noodle, so naturally I'm all over this soba salad with honey soy dressing:
Since I just took a shine to another old, falling apart piece of furniture, I've been looking at makeover ideas. This one won't necessarily work for what I bought, but I thought it was cute, anyway:
And finally, I don't think I really understood the vintage Pyrex trend until I saw this picture. I had only seen a couple of patterns, but the ones in the middle here are much more my speed (hello, blue starburst!).
So what are you up to this weekend? My aunt is flying in from California, so obviously I'll be seeing her, and then I plan to get a little bit of painting done on Sunday evening. Did you find anything awesome on the web this week? Anybody going to see the new Star Trek movie this weekend? I can't go for another few days, but I'm PUMPED.
Wanna follow me on Pinterest? Hop over there.
We are such geek-movie buddies. I won't be able to see Star Trek this weekend perhaps next week I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteIt's Ryan's birthday tomorrow so I'm planning a party with all this friends which means it's going to be a roomful of scientists. I think everyone except 2 people will be scientists. The plan is eat food and drink a lot and perhaps go swimming since the pool is open in our complex.
I really like those pyrex bowels!
That paint colour is gorgeous! Great for a bathroom! My hubby is the big movie buff around here, so he'll definitely go see the new Star Trek :)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous that you got to see Fall Out Boy! I'm sure that it was amazing. Tickets sold out here way before I ever got around to checking for them. The blue will be perfect for your bathroom.
ReplyDeleteWe were completely insane about getting our tickets. They went on sale at 10 a.m. on a Saturday, which also happened to be the day we planned to get to IKEA early to beat the crowd. We sat in the car with both of our phones, plus a computer and just kept clicking until one of us got through. They sold out in less than 10 minutes. Whew!
DeleteI personally love the old pyrex, its all I use.
ReplyDelete1. Yes on the gray-blue. We have the exact same color in our bedroom and we love it. It's the Behr one, though, if you want the name of it.
ReplyDelete2. I would love maxi skirts but most of them and maxi dresses I see are way too long for me, and I'm not about to wear heels with a soft jersey dress. Booo!
3. I don't get the Pyrex thing either, but the pink is really pretty.
Have a fun weekend!
I have a similar paint colour in my bedroom and I LOVE it. It's such a calming, blue/green/gray and is coastal in a subtle way. And I feel you on the maxi skirt love. I want to buy every one I see. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your paint color!! We have one wall in our bedroom mint green (as in obnoxiously minty green) and three walls of blah blah blah beige. We were going to repaint, and hubby likes green, but I can't live with the mint, so we've been stuck--for a long time. A color like this might be a really good choice -- or, if he insists on green, a grayed soft green.
ReplyDeleteI looked at that same shade of paint. It is a really pretty color. We are still undecided about paint colors in a couple rooms. Good luck with the maxi skirt.
ReplyDeleteThat paint color is beautiful -- a blue that's not so much blue! I haven't worn a maxi skirt in a hundred years, but I like them! Star Trek movie -- a definite yes!!
ReplyDeletegreat paint color! (My home office is a similar color.)
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the vintage Pyrex dishes is luscious! make one love them!
Asian soba salad--sounds yummy! must check out!
Star Trek is definitely on my list.
I love those Pyrex patterns, unfortunately, my kitchen is too small to buy any more eating/cooking supplies.
ReplyDeleteWhy haven't I seen those Pyrex patterns?! My man will love them, too. I know we will get some for our kitchen when we move next month!!
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite problem with maxi skirts - they are all far too long. =(
