First, this is an example of how to do a mostly-white room without feeling like you can't touch anything (or eat salsa in there--well, I still don't think I'd eat any on the couch):
This little succulent was designed to be a wedding favor, but I think it would work for a lot of parties, or just look cute lined up in a row on the window sill:
I know it's not really coat weather, but this was too amazing to pass up. Dramatic collar? Check. Military styling? Check. Pretty skirt area? CHECK. It's Burberry, though, which means it will have to be delivered by the magic coat fairy or I can't have it.
Eventually we'll get a light fixture for the dining room. We keep coming back to stuff like this, which is actually a DIY project. It might be over my head, but Hubsey is pretty good at wire-related things:
We're not having a party for the long weekend, but if we were I might take a stab at these chicken salad and avocado crostinis:
Hopefully the weather will be nice for everyone this weekend. There's actually a chance of rain here everyday but today, so that's a bummer. At least we're not having a party so we don't have to worry about that. We have dinner reservations in the city tonight, and then need to take advantage of the sales and shop for a family room rug at some point. The new episodes of Arrested Development also premiere on Netflix, so that sounds like a perfect way to spend a rainy long weekend. What do you have planned? Anybody else watching Arrested?

That coat is amazing! I know what you mean about the coat fairy.... plus I'd need to lose a few pounds before wearing it! Love that sweet succulent too!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of arrested development. I've tried watching a few episodes but I couldn't get into it. Ryan will be out of town so I don't have any big plans. Going to get a mani and pedi with a friend tomorrow morning and then breakfast with Ryan before he leaves for his trip.
I have a lot of orders to finish this weekend and also did I mention homework? Yes, I just started some classes so I have homework too and I have to apply for a grant. It's gonna be a busy weekend.
oh..also that coat is amazing. I'd wear it in the heat.
ReplyDeleteOoo I love that living room! And I am so excited for Arrested Development! I have no plans for this weekend and am kind of sad it will be chilly but oh well! I'm actually going to try to AVOID shopping so I don't get sucked into the sales and end up spending too much money :)

LOVE that coat!! My daughter has a teeny tiny waist. She would look fabulous in that --- but we'd have to win the lottery to afford it.

ReplyDeletelove the white living room! I once had a white couch and love seat (also a matching swivel rocker) and I loved them! I even had kids in the house! My hubby thought I was nuts! I think my daughter still has the rocker, if only for sentimental value! :)
