Hopefully I'll learn all sorts of cool stuff to share with you. I tend to be a bigger fan of how drawings look when you do them by hand, but I know that whipping things up quickly will be good to know. Oh! Speaking of designing things, I helped another friend with her bedroom the other day. I'll have a post about that sometime next week. Also on deck is the basement reveal! I'm done moving all of our knickknacks back in, so it's time to get this show on the road. Be sure you're here on Thursday to see everything. It doesn't even look like the same room! (And to think, it all started with wet carpet.)
What's the plan for you today? Anybody else have summer classes? I'm nervous! I don't need to be, but it's a change so I'm going to freak out. Unrelated: I'm typing this in the basement and I'm SO PUMPED to share it. Aaaah! Okay, I need to get a grip and go pack my tote bag. It's time to learn.
3 summer classes...yes 3 and by August that would have meant I've read 4 textbooks. I also have a midterm today.. so that is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteDon't be nervous about CAD I'm sure it's easy peasy..maybe not so easy but at least you have an instructor. Most people I know that have learned it usually do it on their own.
Also, if you need a guest post for the next month just let me know!
Ohmygod, I didn't even think about doing guest posts! Good call! I'll email you.
DeleteWhich CAD program are you learning? No reason to be nervous...most of them are very user friendly these days. When I first learned AutoCAD, it was still very much an engineering program and you had to memorize all these keyboard commands-haha. It's not like that at all anymore. And the other ones I learned were all point and click too. I actually don't really think it's that much of a time saver if you're just decorating a bedroom or something; sometimes it's easier to just sketch by hand. But if you are designing a building, on the other hand, or doing any commercial design, it's obviously a necessity. No way you could do that by hand!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! But I don't think you'll need it. It's mostly just tedious to spend 4 hours in a classroom making a bunch of lines on a computer screen. ;)
No summer classes for me, but I'd like to learn something new. Good luck, and have fun!
ReplyDeleteboo for summer classes! Good luck with CAD! yikes! makes my brain hurt just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteproject fail with stain? so sorry. :( It doesn't always work the way we plan. Thanks for your sweet comment on my coffee table. :)

Good luck with this class! CAD would be stressing me out, too, but I know that you're up to the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your summer class, and that it will be a fun new adventure of things to learn.
