These are a few of my favorite things.

I'm a tired panda today. We attended three birthday parties in five days (friend, neighbor, bro-in-law) which was a lot of fun all in a row, plus I saw The Conjuring with a different friend and thus have not slept as well as normal because I keep getting scared of our shadowy hallway and the creepy noises animals make on the roof. (You can laugh at me, I'm ridiculous.) There won't be any time to rest up today because I need to make what might be my last bridesmaid order ever, and there's also the issue of the house being a mess. Le sigh.

Last night I spent some time on Etsy letting my brain relax, so I thought I'd share my new favorites with you before I get a jump on the to do list.

These vintage kitchen tins are beautiful. ($42)

We already have a vintage alarm clock, but the numbers on this one are so cool. ($24)

I wear a lot of rings, and recently I dropped one of my favorite stackers in my office and haven't been able to find it. Maybe I should clean in there today, too... ($17)

We have a lot of trips coming up--California in a few weeks and Paris in the fall--so a big wallet like this might be handy for keeping track of important papers. ($99)

And because I never met a throw pillow I didn't like... ($29)

How was your weekend? Do you decompress by surfing Etsy, too? Anybody else see The Conjuring? My friend thought it was equally terrifying, so I'm not just a weenie. Normally scary movies don't really bother me, but MAN. This one was great.

  1. I love those tins! And no, I haven't seen that movie, but I slept with the lights on after I saw "The Blair Witch Project." True story.

  2. You are so much braver than me! I gave up watching scary movies a while ago.

And absolutely love that little vintage clock. The numbers and great and love the bright red letters over typical black. The only thing I hate about clocks like that is the ticking sound they make -it drives me crazy!

  3. Lots of pretty things here. I haven't seen that movie...I don't usually rush to see horror movies in the theater, though I will watch them when they come out on Netflix. I like horror movies that are about supernatural (ghosts, etc.). The ones that really scare me are the ones that are somewhat based on actual events and involve serial killers, rapists, etc., attacking random innocent people because that stuff really happens all the time. Also, I refuse to watch "torture porn" type films (like Saw) because gross.

  4. Sometimes you need another weekend after a week like that...and unfortunately it doesn't usually work that way. Browsing on Etsy is a nice way to relax after a busy couple days. Best of luck with the bridesmaid order and house cleaning.

  6. I watch horror movies ones a year, and then I am cured for another one. The last one I've seen was the Orphan, so scary! I kept seeing something move behind the curtains and hearing sounds that normally aren't here. And I watched it during day time, I think horror movies are not for me.

What I do like are those tins!

  7. Horror movies freak me out!!
I love the tins and my guy was talking about clocks just like that the other day. I did a little Etsy browsing, but I've been busy trying to get everything in order at home after our vacation. The housemate clearly didn't clean a single thing during the two weeks we were gone!

  8. Don't feel alone -- I want to see The Conjuring (I'm crazy for scary movies) but I'm having trouble looking at the commercials....

Love the tins and the clock -- those numbers are super cool!

  10. I'm not sure if I would find the The Conjuring scary. I probably will only because of special effects designed to make you scared. As I mentioned on Twitter that movie is suppose to be about The Warrens when they were investigating The Amityville Horrors which occurred in Connecticut.

The Warrens actually came to my high school every Halloween to tell their stories to the school. I did find the movie A Haunting in Connecticut which occurred in the town next to my mother very scary. I think it's the special affects that make it scary than the actual situation.

  11. Great finds! I avoid scary movies. I like to decompress on Pinterest--all that eye candy--I just sort of zone out.

  12. Love the tins and the rings!
Don't worry, I'm still afraid of the dark...lol! I used to love scary movies, but they're just not my thing anymore. I stay scared for weeks...I'm kind of a wuss :)
