It's that time of year when a lot of things in my life are globbing together at once. The holidays and all of their assorted prep are about to hit me like a speeding train, final projects are being started at school, and our trip is nine days away. I remember thinking that I'd have all of this extra time when I put the brakes on making jewelry. Ha ha ha...
Anyway, here's a glimpse into what I've been doing lately via Instagram pictures.
>> Nope, that leaf carpet isn't at the arboretum, that's the deck! Nature is winning.
>> I've been enjoying my CAD class again this semester. We just did a short unit on rendering things in Photoshop, which adds detail and makes things easier for clients to visualize. If I could just sit in a room and do this all day, I'd be happy.
>> See this delicious plate of food? It was a joint effort. Hubsey made the epic pork shoulder and I busted out the smashed potatoes with garlic and jalapeno. Too bad we don't have time to tag-team dinner more often.
>> We went to Indy with my side of the family a couple of weeks ago. The windmills are my favorite part of the drive.
>> The arboretum has been outdoing itself lately. More yellow this year than anything else, but that's fine with me.
>> Since we won't be able to whip out phones out for every little thing in Paris, I made sure to get a good map instead. This particular brand has served me well in other places, too.
>> The deck! We stained it over the weekend and I had to show you how it turned out. It's like the sunroom was never even there.
>> I've said it before and I'll say it again: my favorite thing about fall fashion is the layers. And boots. So I guess I have two favorites.
What's new in your neck of the woods? How are you coping with the holiday squeeze?
Looks like you're getting in a good mix of work and play :)
ReplyDeleteThings are starting to get a little crazy around here too. Holiday orders are starting to come in and we're trying to put final touches on the outside of the new studio before it snows!
The windmills are my favorite part of the drive to Indy too. You must be so excited for Paris! So soon!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your pictures from Paris! One of my favorite cities... and such a great time of year to visit!
ReplyDeleteYour deck looks great, Paige!
ReplyDeleteI have those streetwise maps of several cities...I like that they are weather proof :)
At least the deck leaves are pretty! It's good you're thinking a head with the map - I was pretty unprepared in Guam because I was told my phone would work and it didn't. I ended up kind of lost a few times!
ReplyDeleteGreat boots! I am still wearing sneakers, trying to deny the cold weather :-)
ReplyDeleteThe deck looks great! I know that must have been a ton of work. No doubt we would have hired someone so kudos to you. Also, I've used those maps before lots of times...definitely better than whipping out a guide book every time you are lost and looking like a hopeless tourist like "please come take advantage of me and possibly mug me!" Haha. Also, I've never seen windmills like that in real life. Pretty cool. :)
ReplyDeleteYour new deck looks gorgeous! We have a gray deck stain on our front porch and I love it. And that plate of food looks awesome, and wholesome... I love it when dishes come together like that. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures and love, love, love the deck! :) You ask how we are coping with the holidays? ... Well for me this year is much different than last! I will need to make it up to my husband as I have been making cards like my life depends on it for upcoming craft fairs and my wonderful husband has been a pretty good sport about it since I have a full time job out of the home and I come home and make cards until bedtime! Have a lot of fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteI love cooking with my hubby, too. From the looks of that dinner, you make a great team. Love your pics. Fall is my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE layers and boots, and the leaves have been so beautiful this way this fall, too! I'm about to the breaking point with the holiday squeeze, but I'm hanging in there. We've almost made it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all you have going on!
ReplyDeleteIndy--my hubby's from there and we used to live there. Northeast side.
I need to get some boots!
