Look at how cute this little girl's bedroom is. These can be hard to get right, but this is the perfect balance of style and playfulness. I give them bonus points for the gray ceiling and Hubsey wants you to know he digs the zebra head:
If you ever come to my house in real life, know that every winter I put pine cones everywhere. They're in bowls, in vases with flowers, hanging from things--and some of them have glitter, so that gets onto you and it's like the pine cones are following you around ALL THE TIME. (I love it.) Anyhoodle, one project I have not done with them yet, however, is making them into a wreath. This is officially on the list:
Now that I'm hanging up my apron as a jewelry designer, my nails have been looking epic. I had forgotten how much I liked wearing polish that doesn't chip off the same day I put it on. I got into the accent nail trend over the summer, but now I might try something more advanced:
What a beautiful cake. It's a picture from a wedding, so tragically there's no accompanying recipe, but this looks easy enough to figure out. I actually have the stuff to make a spice cake right now, and I'm thinking some cranberries would be really good on top of it.
Oh, look! Something black. How weird of me.
Tomorrow and Sunday we're doing some leaf wrangling, staining the deck (I know, it never ends), and meeting some friends to watch football. I plan to work ahead on some posts, too, because I finally got myself in gear and put together an editorial calendar. #organized #almostlikearealblogger What's up for you guys? Anything big?
Lovely pictures, and I love to place pinecones everywhere too! I had to laugh at your intro because I did the same thing to my latest post. I sat there for thirty minutes trying to make it work!
ReplyDeleteThat cake!!! Have a great weekend! We're going up to Lake Geneva. It's our "we can't spend any real money right now" version of a babymoon. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy, you have some awesome picks today! My parents have a few glittery pine cone wreaths, and they find their way into the decor every Christmas. I love the matte nail polish idea and would love to find some that won't cost me an arm and a leg. The cake looks amazing and I love the idea of using the spice cake for it. The stairway looks very sleek and would be an easy enough DIY if need be.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. No plans for the weekend (surprise!) but I think we are all going to be fending off a cold...Greta already has a mild double ear infection and Gus sounds like he's going to move a lung.
Lovely cake indeed! I like the rug in the bedroom. I still haven't found one. sigh.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm sewing I don't wear any nail polish - it wouldn't last a day!
Lovely finds! I am here in US for a few weeks with my hubby, so we have big shopping plans...Singapore is expensive.... hope to find some good deals here!
ReplyDeleteThe wreath and cake are beautiful! Whenever we get married I don't really care about most things, but there will have to be plenty of cake.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. The cake is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkly nails and the wreath is fun too! Have fun this weekend with your projects and football.
ReplyDeleteI have a show tomorrow, so I'm working on getting ready for that today.
I love how cozy that bed looks, wish I could go in there and have a nap :-)
ReplyDeleteCool, can't wait to see what you do with your deck, wink wink. We have a birthday party to go to Saturday and hopefully relaxing and watching football Sunday, woot!
ReplyDeleteI love that pinecone wreath, I pinned it, too!
ReplyDeleteHilarious-o, as usual...
ReplyDeleteSo ask hubsey this: could he make the zebra head?? I know he's handy like that...and based on your new nail art, I know your painting is up to snuff! New etsy project?? Animal heads?
My nail polish always chips too because I use my hands way too much. OPI is the only brand that lasts on me for any significant length of time. I never take time to do any real nail art, though, because there would be no point. I would lose any "design" probably as soon as I painted it haha. I do occasionally paint them but that's about it. Also, love the black wainscoting in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteThe gray ceiling makes the room cozier.
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks spectacular! for Thanksgiving? wouldn't that be different from the expected pumpkin pie?
nail polish and me--never lasts, although I hear shellac would.
I love pinecones, too!
